Endless possibilities and I think whenever the end it, it will still not cover enough of them - It could be like a Marvel multiverse with intertwined stories, teams and human/other efforts.

The Destiny Stargates are a more primitive model predating the more familiar model found throughout the Milky Way Galaxy. Since the Antarctic Stargate and its DHD were conclusively found to be over fifty million years old, and are the oldest in the Milky Way network with the possible exception of Dakara, the Destiny must have been launched before then.

The Cloverdale organism is a lot like mushrooms with the actual body of the organism below ground which is called the mycelium. I love this episode. Probably one of my favorite SGU episodes. The writing, the style, and the direction of the episode is top notch. Showing what happened with Lt. Scott not in reality but in his dreams in 3rd person using a scene in the movie theater is a very intriguing style. Not to mention the organism itself is fascinating. There could very well be a planet out there with an organism very similar to this. It's not far fetched.

Seems like a bad survival strategy. The host is worthless to you if it wanders off and starves to death while hallucinating. The zombie fungus in ants works because the ant is being compelled to be eaten by another host, which will then in turn spread the spores. E: Perhaps the native hosts have more resilience to the effect.

3:00 I seriously doubt that this tech would turn the war in the Ancients' favor. As Todd described in a later season, the Ancients were overconfident in their strategic thinking. They would advance too far on a battlefield and allow the Wraith to capture one or more of their ZPMs, which was then used to power the Wraith troop cloning facilities. The Wraith surged their numbers and overwhelmed any advantage the Ancients thought they won through Wraith battle deaths. And that's considering that each ZPM is an enormous but still finite power source. If the Ancients did perfect the Arcturus tech, a truly infinite power source, they might deploy a smaller version of it on all their ships. If the Wraith managed to capture and keep at least one working Arcturus power plant, then it's game over, the Wraith have won. As Rodney once said, the Achilles heel of Wraith technology is inefficient power generation. It's why their ships have such limited hyperdrive speed and range. With an Arcturus device, the Wraith clone all the troops and grow all the organic hive ships that they want, wipe out the Ancients, the Vanir, and every other threat to their dominance over Pegasus, then they turn the cloning facilities around to mass production of humans for food. If the Wraith can also reverse engineer the tech to some degree, their ships can also be fitted with mini Arcturus devices to cross intergalactic distances and set up Wraith colonies in all the nearest galaxies, bringing human cloning facilities with them. They'd become a plague upon the whole universe in time. One day, they find preexisting humans while exploring the Milky Way. Another day, maybe thousands of years later, in another galaxy close to ours, the Wraith stumble upon a string of gates left behind by Destiny's seed ships. No preexisting humans in that galaxy, but there are gates here. Most curious...

This series finally attempted to understand or overstand the true source of creation and I highly admire that quest. However, one merely needs to reach within our loving soul to discover this first hand. From there it is easy to see where we all came from. I still love this show and shame on whoever canceled this as it had such depth and breadth that it truly could have gone on for millennia and never used up the possibilities available for story telling.

The first version of the SG ttrpg gave the Reol as a playable race: they expanded on their culture (mostly hiding among other species, running an underground railroad, so to speak). I remember thinking it would be fun playing a Reol, but like rather than picking an actor to embody their character, you would get an array of people to play, as various people affected by the Reol mnemonic agent would see and "remember" them differently; one might see a quirky, nerdy guy while another might see a handsome hero type. I also thought about a female Reol being like the ultimate femme fatale spy: she could literally be anyone's type!

Standalone: "Get Outta Here" "Nobody Cares" "Favorite Meal of All Time" Narrowing It Down: "Don't Encourage Him" (Kinos are still fairly new, so probably early in the run) "Disgusting Habit" (must happen prior to 1.10 "Justice") "Destiny Tour" (likely to be early, probably after "Light") "Kino Race" & "Horrible Injury" (seem likely to have happened close to one another) "Not Being There" (hard to judge, but has to have been a while into the season based on exasperation/depression) Specific Ties: "Corridor Conversation" (appears to take place after 1.05 "Light") "Variety" (references 1.06 "Water") "Do I Look Stupid?" (takes place during 1.07 "Earth") "All Telford's Fault" (takes place during 1.07 "Earth") "You Okay?" (follows 1.07 "Earth") "We Volunteer To Do This" (MUST take place some time after 1.07 "Earth") "Wait For It" (takes place during 1.10 "Justice") "Drop the Sirs" (follows 1.16 "Sabotage") "Like A Hug" (follows 1.16 "Sabotage") Thematically Tied: "Covered Kino" (appears to be echoing something which happens in 1.04 "Darkness") "Not Just for Posterity" (echoes events of 1.09 "Life") "All the Stages" (fits in nicely with 1.13 "Faith") "One Long Endless Night" & "Most Painful Moments" (bookend 1.17 "Pain" very nicely)

It's pretty obvious why the Ancients abandoned the Destiny project. It was irrelevant after ascension was discovered. Ascended beings are much better equipped to study and understand cosmic scale interactions than a "slow" old ship or any technology available could ever be. It is alluded to on many occasions that something much grander occupies the the ascended than what goes on even on intergalactic scales. Something exists in the vastness of the universe which cannot be sensed or recorded by anyone and requires experience and understanding on the universal scale to comprehend. At one point Daniel even tells Replicarter outright that the knowledge held by the ascended are beyond the understanding of the Replicators (IE physical beings). The ascended may be in touch with something that is inherently extra-universal in nature. Ascension having a special component is later reinforced by the Asuran failing to become anything even resembling ascended beings when they convert themselves to energy in an attempt to mimic ascension. Existing as energy and being ascended are two different things, there is some kind of "special sauce" involved in ascension beyond just being an energy being. The idea that something greater is out there behind it all permeates Stargate lore. The whole franchise started on exploration of ancient secrets and the scale of those secrets have continued to grow over the years. Every time humanity discovered something it revealed more layers of the unknown behind it. I am happy Universe never revealed what the secret is. There are some things in the Stargate franchise which should never be revealed. For this reason I always enjoyed that they chose to represent ascended existence in personally allegorical ways when we got glimpses of it, rather than give us definite information.
